200 Lb. Yellow Fin TUNA aboard Macushla

After 5 anglers fought this monster for 2 hours, a Sushi festival was had by all!

Congratulations to the Brewster Party for Hooking, Fighting, and landing a 200lb Yellow Fin Tuna while fishing aboard our top producing 38' D&G Custom SportFish the "Macushla" with legendary Captain Johnny Cerpas at the wheel and his tournament seasoned mates on deck!

Shortly after these 5 anglers were resting their arms from having already caught 8 giant Sail Fish out of 12 raised, two lines got hit hard by 2 giant Tuna. One hit on a 30 and the other on a 50. Two of the guests from this group began fighting these monsters with everything they had left in them.

Unfortunately, the Tuna that had all but spooled the 30, had found his way back to the deep and broke off after 40 minutes of Battle. Captain Johnny estimated this fish to be around 250-275lbs. After another hour and twenty minutes of Battling the second Tuna that had hit the 50, a 200lb. Yellow Fin Tuna was on deck!

Once back at the Marina, camera flashes lit up the sky at the Marina as everyone gathered to take pictures of this beast. It was the Largest Yellow Fin caught and landed all year. After the photo shoot was finished, the mates quickly filleted and steaked the fish and it was Off to one of  Hooked on Costa Rica's sponsor restaurants, the Pacific Bistro  in Jaco.

Restaurant Owner and  head chef Kevin Green prepared the Tuna 4 differnt ways from Sashimi for appetizers, to Blackened, Sesame Seared, Poached, and TarTar as well as sides of Ginger Salad, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, steamed vegetables, and rice.
